2nd section of roof underway!!

Every day when I come home from work its exciting to see what has been done to the house whilst I am away.  I look in anticiapation when i am driving down the lane, looking to the distance. Today it has been dry all day..no rain...hurrah !! and the  the roof above the 2nd staircase, landing and end bathroom was stripped of its old slates and re felted.  A huge expanse of waterproof membrane or 'felt' as its called was put in place.  The next stage is new wooden battens and then my lovely old origonal and very expensive Cornish Delabole slates will be re hung.

His Nibs is on his way home, flying back on the late flight from Aberdeen, so unfortunately he wont see this until the morning.
