gables and gutters

I still cant believe we live here.  I look at the house and its like a dream...our dream finally coming true, little by little. But it is real, it is ours. We own this big beautiful beast.  She's slowly taking shape.  Each day I come home from work and see the changes being made.  Now one quarter of the roof is pretty much stripped, battened and felted ready for my new slates to be put on.  The right hand side is yet to be done, the two hipped ends and the whole of the front has yet to be done.

GABLES
At the front of the house we have 3 gables, each of them had big carved oak decorative fascias. I desperately want to save these.  I want to remove them and restore them.  They are part of her character. Her face, they are like her long false eyelashes, framing the front aspect.  They are huge and solid and very heavy.

You don't find architectural features like these often. You just couldn't afford to have them made like that these days. To get a sawmill to produce carved oak like this is not in our budget and we want to get them done at the same time as the roof. These days plastic fascia would be used instead.  I'm not having any plastic or upvc on Lanoy it just wouldst look in keeping with the rest of the property.

GUTTERS
We are going for seamless aluminium gutters. the lengths can be up to 30m long with no seams or joints, so much neater and less leaks and problems in the future.
The builders have a gutter forming machine . The pre-painted aluminium coil is then fed into the machine and with the aid of stainless and nylon rollers the gutter is roll formed into the distinctive ogee style .The aluminium coil is pre-painted using a scratch resistant hydro powder coated finish. The seamless aluminium gutter system has a life expectancy in excess of 35 years
The seamless aluminium gutter is cut specifically to the individual property requirements.

 COLOURS
Now the great debate is going to start on what colour to paint her walls.  Shes white at present.  But I'm thinking about  a buff colour or stone or pale grey,  with the corner stones and window stones contrasting in white
